BarrieToday has received numerous letters, including this one, in response to 'LETTER: City waste collection changes 'daunting' for seniors,' published Nov. 21.

I would like to address the new garbage and recycling program the city is introducing next year.

As a physically disabled individual, who already can’t lift my recycle bins easily now and traverse my porch steps, I have no idea how the disabled are supposed to use those massive containers.

I don’t have room in my garage, where my car stays, for these massive bins.

I am quite disheartened by yet again an ableist attitude that is going to cause so many of the population to struggle even more.

I can’t haul those containers up my porch with any items in them, so this will be so cumbersome.

Too bad we have such outrageous property taxes, but no say in such matters.
