The following is in response to 'LETTER: City waste collection changes 'daunting' for seniors,' published Nov. 21.

We live in the north end by the college and hospital and all ready have this area looking a mess with garbage and cans left out.

I feel with this new system that we will only create more mess as we don’t have the space to place those large containers inside and out of sight and I can see they will just be left out everywhere.

And, also as stated by another concerned resident, the weight and size of them for anyone with health problems and blocking the bottom of our driveways.

At this point, we have a bylaw that doesn’t allow any garbage containers to stay in front of our homes. Is this going to change?

I don’t believe there has been enough thought into this move. It may be more economical for the city, but more troubles for the community.
