Although Barrie police say the surveillance image is low-quality and extremely grainy, investigators hope to locate and speak to a potential witness who may have valuable information following four robberies on Thursday.

Police say the female customer was in the Circle K convenience store at 149 Dunlop St. E. around 10:40 p.m. on Thursday, March 19 when one of the robberies occurred.

Anyone with information is asked to call Det.-Const. Brett Carleton at 705-725-7025, ext 2549.

A 24-year-old Barrie man was arrested Thursday night and has been charged with four counts each of robbery, disguise with intent, and breach of probation.

The investigation is ongoing.

The first robbery call came in at 6:50 a.m., Thursday, when the Circle K located at 149 Dunlop St. E. was robbed.

Police say the same suspect returned at 10:17 a.m. wearing different clothing and robbed the store again.

At 3:27 p.m., Barrie police officers responded to the Circle K at 151 Bayfield St., where police believe the same suspect, again in different clothing, held up another store.

The suspect wore red gloves in all three daytime robberies.

On Thursday night at 10:40 p.m., the suspect is believed to have struck for the fourth time in just under 16 hours as he returned to the scene of his first two robberies and hit the Circle K located at 149 Dunlop St. E. for a third time.

This time, police say he wore different clothing and black gloves.

Police immediately descended on the scene and contained the area where the suspect was seen fleeing.

Within 30 minutes, a male suspect has been taken into custody.
