The Barrie Police Service is requesting the assistance of the public with regards to two ongoing robbery investigations.

This morning (Thursday, March 19) at 6:50 a.m., Barrie police responded to a report of a robbery at the Circle K located at 149 Dunlop St. E., in the City of Barrie.

Although no weapon was seen, a demand was made, and an undisclosed amount of money was obtained.

The suspect who is described as male white, five-foot-seven, wearing a long-sleeved white and black T-shirt, black jeans or pants, had his face covered with a long-sleeve black shirt, wore a black bandana, red gloves and carried a green reusable shopping bag and fled on foot.

A short time later, at 10:17 a.m., police received a second call to the same location after the on-duty employee reported he had just been robbed by the same person who had robbed the store earlier. Although the suspect had somewhat altered his appearance, he was still wearing the red gloves, but wore a black shirt with silver or white buttons and has his head covered with a black pullover.

Again, a small amount of currency was obtained. This time, the Barrie Police Canine Unit was able to conduct a track and the investigation remains ongoing.
