May day in Barrie: Green Party leader spending day in the area

May's itinerary on Thursday includes a visit to Busch Systems on Rawson Avenue, a tour of the David Busby Centre, and a town hall meeting tonight at Mavricks

Federal Green Party leader Elizabeth May will spend today in the Barrie area as part of her Community Matters Tour. 

May's itinerary on Thursday includes a visit to Busch Systems on Rawson Avenue for about an hour, beginning at 10 a.m.

From there, she will travel to the Barrie Native Friendship Centre on Bayfield Street for a tour of the facility starting around 11:35 a.m.

During the noon hour, May will be at the David Busby Centre on Mulcaster Street before heading down to Thornton to check out the village's main street and stop for a private lunch at Vidya's Veggie Gourmet. 

At 3 p.m., May will head over Innisfil Beach Road to Alcona, followed by a tour of the Sandbox Centre on Maple Avenue in downtown Barrie beginning around 4 p.m.

From 7-9 p.m., May will host a Community Matters town hall meeting at Mavricks Music Hall on Dunlop Street West. For more information on the town hall meeting, click here.
