Toronto pounded out 18 hits on its way to 12-3 win over Barrie Wednesday night at Christie Pits.

Justin Marra and Luca Boscarino each went deep for the Maple Leafs (19-12). Marra’s 11th home run was a solo shot, while Boscarino’s first of the season was a three-run blast.

Jose Vinicio had two hits and an RBI, Johnathan Solazzo went 2-for-4 and scored twice, Aidan McAskie plated a pair of runs, Connor Lewis went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run, Dan Marra had three hits and scored three times, Damon Topolie went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run and Greg Carrington drove in a run.

Zach Sloan (4-2) picked up the win, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits over five innings. He walked one and struck out six.

Baycats’ starter Adam Khan (3-3) was lifted with two outs in the fourth after giving up seven runs on 12 hits with a walk and strikeout.

Offensively, Ryan Rijo went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. Owen Jansen and Jake Wilson each had a hit and scored.

Barrie fell to 18-14.

Hilderbrandt, Smibert lead Jackfish past Red Sox

BRANTFORD – Matt Hilderbrandt and James Smibert both homered and drove in four runs to lead the first-place Welland Jackfish to a 17-5 win Wednesday night in Brantford. 

Hilderbrandt finished with three hits, as did Sam Cawker, who drove in a run and scored three times. Gianfranco Morello had two hits and four runs, Justin Gideon drove in two and scored twice, Brandon Nicholson went 2-for-5 with three RBI and three runs and Matteo Porcellato had a pair of RBI and scored once.

Brandon Underhill (2-0) tossed seven innings for the win. The Jackfish righty struck out four and didn’t issue a walk.
Welland leads London by 1.5 games.

For Brantford (2-29), which sits last in the IBL, Brodie Mackay went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI. Liam Sutherland had two hits, an RBI and a run, while Jamiel Orozco and Lucas Bateman each drove in a run.

Sean Hood-Tidman (0-4) took the loss, allowing nine runs on five hits over 2.2 innings. He walked four and struck out one.
