The following was submitted on behalf of the Barrie Lawn Bowling Club:
A team from the Barrie Lawn Bowling Club won the Matthews Trophy on May 11.
The local team includes skip Mary Jane Dawson and vice-skip Corrine Smith, while Jon Dawson and Al Fairchild shared the lead position.
For a good fun game, come out and join us at the Barrie Sports Dome on Hanmer Street, near Georgian Mall.
Bowling at the dome, which was replaced last summer, takes place Monday afternoons at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m., and Wednesday afternoons at 12:30 p.m. There are also tournaments on special dates throughout the season.
We also have instruction learning to play bowls.
