Rodriguez led the Baycats offence with three hits, including a double, while Noel McGarry-Doyle hit a two-run homer in the third inning.

Starling Joseph had two hits to lead the Majors, including a two-run double in the third inning to give his team a lead during a three-run inning.

Red Sox / Maple Leafs cancelled

The rain spoiled Saturday’s Intercounty Baseball League game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Brantford Red Sox.

Because of the inclement weather, the game between the two teams at Arnold Anderson Stadium was cancelled. A makeup date will be determined.

Panther beat Royals in rain-shortened game

The rain came down hard in the sixth inning to halt things at David E. Hastings Stadium, with the Kitchener Panthers defeating the Guelph Royals 3-1 Saturday during Intercounty Baseball League action.

Keegan Marsden then had an RBI single in the fourth inning, before he did the same thing, knocking in Nick Parsons for the second time in the sixth.

Jacob Douglas got the win, while Hector Yan took the loss.

The Panthers are now 15-10 and host the Brantford Red Sox Sunday at 5:15 p.m. The Royals drop to 8-16 and host the Red Sox Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
