Original story:
Firefighters are still on the scene of a fire at a home on Sunnidale Road, near the Highway 400 overpass.

Assistant Deputy Chief Derek Wilson told BarrieToday crews are working in a “defensive mode.”

Two people were rushed to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) due to smoke inhalation and a third, who had previously been unaccounted for, is on the way to hospital as well.

“Our crews are still working on the fire and they earlier had to search for a person who was said to still be inside,” said Wilson. “That person was located and (paramedics have) transported them to hospital.”

Wilson could not provide any details about the condition of the people who were transported to hospital.

The cause of the blaze is unknown as of yet.
