On Wednesday, December 9, 2015, around 9:30 p.m., a concerned citizen called South Simcoe Police to report a possibly impaired driver in Bradford.

Officers quickly located and stopped the car.

While speaking with the driver, the officer noted the smell of alcohol on his breath and a roadside screening device test was conducted.

The driver registered a FAIL, and was taken into custody for further testing.

A 51-year-old Port McNicholl man was charged with Drive Over 80 mgs.

His car was impounded for 7 days, and his driver's licence suspended for 90 days.

He will appear in Bradford court at the end of December.

Once again, a vigilant citizen's call removed a drinking driver from our roads.

Co-operation between the police and the public is essential in maintaining public safety.

If you see a driver that you suspect is driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, note the licence plate and call 9-1-1 immediately.
