Jose Dourado of Bradford can ‘find his possible’ after winning a Lotto 6/49 prize worth $1 million in the Gold Ball Draw on April 17, 2024.

Jose, a weekly lottery player, typically plays Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49.

“I recently started to play my own numbers. This is my first big win,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

The retired construction worker said he was at home when he checked his ticket on the OLG app and discovered his big win.

“I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I had to scan it again — I was frozen with disbelief. My heart was beating so fast,” he said. “It took me about 15 minutes to accept it was real.”

Jose plans to put his win toward good use but wants to take some time to settle into it before making any decisions.

“This will be enjoyed by myself, my wife, my kids and my grandkids,” he smiled.

“This is beautiful and emotional. I’m happy,” Jose concluded.

Lotto 6/49 offers players a chance to win two multimillion-dollar jackpots every Wednesday and Saturday, for the same $3 per play.

The Classic Draw offers a fixed $5-million jackpot for every draw, while the Gold Ball Draw guarantees a $1-million prize, or the growing jackpot that starts at $10 million and can exceed $60 million. Click here for more information about the new Lotto 6/49.
