Health unit reports three new COVID-19 cases in Simcoe County

Three new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Simcoe County today.

The region’s health unit confirmed two more cases in Bradford West Gwillimbury today, a woman in her 40s and a boy between the ages of 10 and 19. Including these two cases, there are seven active cases currently reported in Bradford residents.

The third case is a man in his 50s from Innisfil. He is one of eight people with an active case of the coronavirus in Innisfil, two of those people are hospitalized.

The transmission source for all three cases is listed as under investigation.

According to the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, there are now 40 lab-confirmed active cases of COVID-19 in Simcoe County and two in Muskoka District.

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has reported 504 cases of COVID-19 in the region to-date, including 426 recoveries and 36 deaths. There are six people hospitalized in the region with COVID-19 and another 36 still recovering from the coronavirus.

The case breakdown by municipality, according to the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, is as follows:

  • Barrie (161 total cases, 138 recoveries, 14 deaths)
  • Bradford West Gwillimbury (106 total cases, 87 recoveries, 12 deaths)
  • New Tecumseth (53 total cases, 44 recoveries, two in hospital, one death)
  • Innisfil (41 total cases, 33 recoveries, two in hospital)
  • Orillia (17 total cases, 14 recoveries, two deaths, one in hospital)
  • Collingwood (15 total cases, all recovered)
  • Wasaga Beach (14 total cases, 12 recoveries, one death)
  • Clearview (seven total cases, six recoveries, one death)
  • Springwater (10 total cases, eight recoveries, one death)
  • Midland (six total cases, all recovered)
  • Oro-Medonte (six total cases, three recoveries, two deaths)
  • Adjala-Tosorontio (eight total cases, seven recoveries)
  • Essa (14 total cases, 12 recoveries, one death)
  • Ramara (seven total cases, all recovered)
  • Tiny (three total cases, all recovered)
  • Tay (five total cases, all recovered)
  • Penetanguishene (five total cases, four recovered)
  • Severn (six total cases, five recovered)
