Young cyclist's condition 'improving' in hospital after being struck by vehicle

INNISFIL - A 12-year-old Innisfil boy's condition is improving at a Toronto hospital following a collision with a vehicle while riding his bicycle.

On Friday, Sept. 20, 2019, around 5:30 p.m., the boy and his sister were riding their bicycles eastbound on Big Bay Point Road near 25 Sideroad in Innisfil.

As an eastbound Kia attempted to pass the cyclists, the boy's bicycle and the Kia made contact.

The child was rushed to a local hospital and later transported to a Toronto hospital.

The driver of the Kia remained on scene and spoke to police.

As a result of a police appeal, several witnesses have come forward which has assisted the investigation, which is continuing.
