Two drivers face impaired charges

BRADFORD - On Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, just after 1:30 a.m., South Simcoe Police received information about persons leaving a local restaurant in Bradford and driving away after consuming a number of drinks. 

A description of the car was given and South Division officers were able to locate the vehicle on Holland Street West where the car was pulled over.

While the officer was speaking to the male driver, a strong smell of alcohol was detected and a roadside screening device test was conducted. The driver registered a fail, and was taken for further testing at the station.   

A 24-year-old Bradford man has been charged with drive over 80 mgs. His car was impounded for seven days and his driver's licence was suspended for 90 days.

INNISFIL - On Friday, Sept. 29 around 1 a.m., South Simcoe Police were dispatched to the 10th Side Road of Innisfil for a report of a vehicle driving aggressively.  Police located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on the 9th Line of Bradford West Gwillimbury. 

The investigating officer noted a smell of alcohol on the female driver and demanded she provide a suitable sample of her breath into a roadside device resulting in a fail. She was arrested and taken to the South Division for further testing. 

During their investigation, police learned the woman was already prohibited from driving following a 2016 impaired driving conviction. 

The vehicle was towed. A 31-year-old female from Holland Landing is facing charges of drive over 80 mgs and drive under suspension.
