Two charged with driving infractions

CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES - Officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) removed several drivers from the roadway on the weekend.

On July 20, 2018 an officer observed an HTA (Highway Traffic Act) infraction and subsequently stopped the offending vehicle. Investigation indicated that the driver was suspended from driving.

As a result, William Midghall, 41 years of age, of Innisfil, was charged with failing to display device and driving while suspended, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on Sept. 6, 2018.

On the same date an officer patrolling on Elm Tree Road conducted a vehicle stop and, through investigation, determined that the driver was driving while under suspension. 

As a result, Mark Rizzo, 44 years of age, of Barrie, was charged with driving while under suspension, contrary to the HTA. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on Sept. 6, 2018.
