Four people were taken to local hospital following a multi-vehicle crash involving a trio of pedestrians in Barrie's south end this afternoon.

Barrie police received a call shortly after 1 p.m., Friday, about a collision at the intersection of Bayview Drive and Little Avenue.

Peter Leon, who handles communications for city police, said there were three pedestrians and three vehicles involved.

Leon said the initial investigation indicates one car was making a turn when it was struck by another vehicles and then came into contact with three pedestrians as they were crossing the road. Another vehicle was subsequently involved as well, he said.

Four people taken to local hospital by ambulance with what appeared to be non-life-threatening, Leon said.

The investigation is ongoing, but the crash has been cleaned up and the road was about to reopen, Leon said around 2:30 p.m.
