Barrie is still experiencing heavy snowfall and intense snow squalls as the sun sets.
Ontario Provincial Police report that Highway 400 between Forbes Road and Partridge Road in Springwater Township was closed for a few hours beginning at about 2:30 this afternoon due to a collision.
Police are asking people to avoid travel tonight in light of the hazardous road conditions and limited visibility.
