SPRINGWATER TWP. - Members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called around 12:30 p.m. Thursday to assist in the area of Anne Street North in Springwater Township for reports of a suspicious item.
The area experienced heavy police presence and was closed to the public for the duration of the investigation.
The area has been opened up to the public since 6 p.m., Thursday.
OPP's Canine and Emergency Response Units attended the scene to assist with the investigation.
Police have determined there are no threats to public safety.
