Suspects charged following Knights Inn robbery

On Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 9:50 a.m., Barrie Police Service were called to the Knights Inn located at 150 Dunlop St. in the City of Barrie after receiving a call for a robbery.  

As officers arrived, the two suspects had left the room where the robbery had occurred. However, as the police spoke to the victim, one of the suspects was spotted in the parking lot. The male fled towards Dunlop Street West and officers caught up to him at the gas station next door. The second male involved in the robbery was located in a room within the motel and was arrested.  

The victim received minor injuries as a result of the altercation and his belongings were recovered by police once the arrests were made.

A 36-year-old Barrie male was charged with break and enter, robbery with a weapon and fail to comply with probation.

A 34-year-old Barrie male was charged with break and enter, robbery with a weapon, mischief under $5,000, fail to comply with recognizance and fail to comply with probation. 

Both males were held at the Barrie Police Service overnight to attend a bail hearing in Barrie court on Thursday, March 15, 2018.
