Stolen pickup found crashed, abandoned in Essa Township

Police say the suspect also opened the trailer after the crash and removed tools

ESSA TWP. – In the early morning hours of Dec. 9, 2020, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Nottawasaga Detachment, attended the scene of a single motor vehicle crash on County Road 10 at the 10th Sideroad of Essa Township.

When police arrived, they located a white 2010 Ford F-150 with a white cargo trailer attached to the rear, flipped over in the ditch.

There was no one at the scene of this crash.  

Police attended the residence of the owner, who lives on County Road 15 of Essa Township, just north of County Road 21, and discovered that the vehicle had been stolen from the residence sometime earlier.

Investigation reveals that the vehicle was stolen sometime between 3 a.m and 4 a.m.  

The suspect(s) opened the trailer after the crash and removed a quantity of tools. The tools stolen and the value of the tools stolen is still being determined.

Police are asking assistance of the public if anyone observed this crash with the hope of providing a description of the person(s) responsible,
