SPRINGWATER TWP. — In the early morning hours of May 22, 2021 several unlocked vehicles in Midhurst were entered and various items taken.
Members of the Huronia West OPP are reminding residence to Lock It or Lose It when it comes to their vehicles and valuables because criminals are looking for easy targets. Removing valuables from plain sight and making sure to lock your vehicle can be enough to deter a would be thief.
Securing your vehicle and valuables makes sense year-round. Not only is it strongly recommended not to leave your wallet or purse and electronics in your vehicle, motorists are urged not to keep personal documents in their vehicles either. Identity thieves are looking for such documents so they can assume identities, secure credit card accounts, lease vehicles for export, and even take out a mortgage against victims' properties without their knowledge.
