UPDATE: Motorcyclist succumbs to injuries after Hwy 11 crash

UPDATE:
A motorcyclist who was transported to a local area trauma centre following a Highway 11 crash has died, police say.

The Orillia OPP say a 32-year-old male of Holland Landing succumbed to the injuries Sunday night and was pronounced deceased.

ORIGINAL STORY:
The Orillia OPP say they closed Hwy 11 in both directions Sunday evening for a single-vehicle motorcycle collision that has left one person in serious condition. 

Officers responded along with Simcoe County Paramedic Services just before 6 p.m.

Police said the motorcyclist was transported to a trauma centre.

Highway 11 was closed from Line 3 to Line 4 in both directions for approximately three hours while the OPP Central Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation unit investigated the scene.

The road was reported reopened at around 9:15 p.m.

The crash remains under investigation, the OPP said in a news release.
