Investigators with the York Regional Police Auto Theft Unit are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information on the whereabouts of a police vehicle that was stolen from the City of Markham.

On Thursday, June 11, 2020, shortly after 7 a.m., York Regional Police were called regarding the theft of a vehicle from a driveway in Markham. It was reported by a police officer with the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) who advised that the unmarked vehicle issued to him by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) had been stolen from his driveway sometime overnight.

The investigation has revealed that the vehicle was stolen from the driveway of a residence in the area of Main Street Markham and Parkway Avenue on Thursday, June 11, 2020, shortly after 3 a.m. The vehicle was unmarked and contained a police issued rifle, handgun, ammunition and two conductive energy weapons inside of a locked compartment.
