Police say Alliston man spit on first-responders after crash

A 23-year-old Alliston man was charged with numerous offences including impaired driving and assaulting police following a single-vehicle collision in Bradford.  

On Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at approximately 2:25 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a report of a vehicle driving erratically on Sideroad 10 near Line 11 that had subsequently entered a ditch and rolled on its hood.

The driver was arrested for impaired driving.

As officers attempted to place the suspect into custody, he [allegedly] resisted arrest and spat on first-responders.

As a result of the investigation, 23-year-old Ryan Gagnon of Alliston was charged with aggravated assault, two counts assault peace officer, operation while impaired, utter threats, driving while under suspension and novice driver BAC above zero.

The accused was held for a bail hearing.
