Barrie police are looking for the driver of a white pickup truck following a fail-to-remain collision involving a cyclist Monday evening.

Police say the incident happened around 5 p.m., June 12, at the intersection of Patterson Road and Moon Drive, in the Ardagh Road area.

The details of the incident were shared with police last night after the 33-year-old male cyclist was taken to local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries sustained in the collision, according to police.

The investigating officer has determined the cyclist was going southbound on the sidewalk along Patterson Road when the pickup truck, which was travelling westbound on Moon Drive and had a ladder attached to it, failed to stop for the stop sign, striking the cyclist.

Police say the pickup was occupied by two males who took the cyclist and his bike to a family member’s home on Patterson Road. As they departed, one of the males in the truck said, “I wish you a speedy recovery."

Anyone who witnessed the collision, has information about what happened or who may recognize the description of the truck is asked to contact the investigating officer by email at [email protected].
