At approximately 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, Barrie Police responded to a single motor vehicle collision at an address on Drury Lane in the City of Barrie.

Upon arrival, it was determined that the driver of the vehicle had been involved in an earlier motor vehicle collision at approximately 5:50 p.m. at the intersection of Wellington Street and Bayfield Street. This collision did not result in any injuries, and the drivers were referred to the Collision Reporting Centre. The accused’s vehicle was damaged and required a tow; however, the driver left the scene in the vehicle.

As the driver left, they were involved in a collision on Wellington Street East before turning onto Drury Lane, losing control of the vehicle and colliding with a home on Drury Lane.

The driver was not injured but was taken to a local hospital as a precaution. Officers on scene investigated the possibility of impairment, but it is believed that the driver was experiencing a medical issue.

A 39-year-old Barrie woman has been charged with dangerous driving and fail to remain.
