Oro-Medonte traffic stop leads to drug charges

OPP say more than 250 grams of fentanyl were seized Monday after vehicle pulled over on Highway 400

A traffic stop in Oro-Medonte has led to drug charges being laid against two people.

At about 12 p.m., Monday, an Orillia OPP officer conducted a traffic stop on Highway 400 and allegedly found cannabis accessible to the driver. Both occupants of the vehicle were arrested.

Police also say they then found more than 250 grams of fentanyl.

Jesse Borden, 26, of Scarborough, has been charged with possession of an opioid (other than heroin) for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000, and stunt driving.

Devonte Kelsie-Comeau, 24, of Toronto, has been charged with possession of an opioid (other than heroin) for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000.

The accused were held for a bail hearing Thursday in Orillia court.
