Provincial police are still trying to put the pieces together after a man was found dead outside an Adjala-Tosorontio Township home one year ago.

Investigators with Nottawasaga OPP's major crime unit are appealing to the public for information in connection to the homicide of Gordon Banks.

On Sept. 8, 2021, at approximately 9 a.m., Nottawasaga OPP responded to a residence on Concession Road 3, where the 60-year-old man was located deceased outside the home. Police say investigators found evidence indicating there was a physical confrontation prior to his death.

Thursday marked one year since the investigation began and Nottawasaga OPP say they continue in their efforts to bring resolution to the Banks family. Police are seeking public assistance to identify those responsible, including tips provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers.

Police do not believe there is any concern for public safety.

The investigation continues under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) with assistance from Central Region OPP's Regional Support Team and Forensic Identification Services Unit, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario.

The OPP wants to hear from members of the public to help establish a timeline of the victim's activities in the days leading up to his death.

Anyone who knew the victim and has information that could assist police with his habits, hobbies and activities is asked to contact the Nottawasaga OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or ontariocrimestoppers.ca.
