Three-vehicle crash in Essa sends one to hospital

ESSA TOWNSHIP - Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Nottawasaga Detachment are investigating a three-vehicle collision that occurred on County Road 21 between the 9th and 10th lines of Essa Township.

On Monday, June 3, 2019 at approximately 4:30 p.m., the OPP received a call for service involving three vehicles where two collided head-on. Essa Fire Department and Georgian Ambulance attended scene along with multiple OPP constables.

The head-on was between a full-sized pickup truck and a mid-sized sedan. The male driver of the sedan had to be extricated from the vehicle due to the damage sustained. 

Once removed, the male driver was assessed by on-site EMS and transported to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre for precautionary reasons due to complaints of neck and leg pain.

There were four other parties involved, including two children, all were assessed and cleared/released while on scene. 

County Road 21 was reopened shortly after the collision. No charges have been laid at this time but the investigation is ongoing.
