Man wanted in connection with two robberies at same gas station

Barrie Police Service is looking to locate a wanted male after two robberies over the weekend at the same location.

On Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017 at 2:50 a.m., police were called to the Petro Canada located at 360 Bayfield St. in the City of Barrie in regards to a robbery.

The (accused) entered the store and selected a few chocolate bars and four packages of cigarettes before asking the employee for a pair of scissors. While still in possession of the scissors, the male demanded money from the employee. A small quantity of cash was obtained and the male left the store without the chocolate bars or cigarettes. He was last seen travelling southbound on Bayfield Street. The employee was not physically injured in the incident.

On Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017 at 8:35 p.m., the same male entered the Petro Canada located at 360 Bayfield St. demanding money from the employee. A small amount of money was handed over and the male immediately fled, last seen travelling southbound on Bayfield Street. The employee was not physically injured in the incident.

Officers identified the male through surveillance video as 31-year-old William Winstanley of Barrie and on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017 a warrant was sworn to for the following charges:
    •    Robbery (x2)
    •    Fail to comply with probation (x2)
    •    Fail to comply with recognizance
    •    Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

Description:
    •    Male, white
    •    5'6", 115lbs, think build
    •    Multiple tattoos including a string of flowers around his neck, rosary around his neck and down chest, and red puzzle piece under right ear
