Kawartha crash leads to charges against 2 Barrie residents

Driver, passenger charged following Feb. 25 collision in Eldon Township

CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES - Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a driver and passenger at the scene of a single motor vehicle collision in the ditch on Kirkfield Road in Eldon Township.

At approximately 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 25, 2022, officers attended the collision and located the driver and passenger with the vehicle. As a result of the investigation, both the driver and passenger were arrested and charged.

Cameron Parker, 20 years of age of Barrie, has been charged with:
    •    Fail or refusal to comply with demand
    •    Dangerous operation
    •    Fail to comply with probation order
    •    Theft over $5,000 of a motor vehicle
    •    Novice driver - B.A.C. above zero

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on March 10, 2022.

Dalton Drury, 23 years of age of Barrie, was also arrested and charged with personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution or obstruct justice, and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on March 24, 2022.
