Innisfil man linked to Big Bay Point Rd. investigation charged with more sex offences (3 photos)

South Simcoe police believe there could be more potential victims and are releasing additional details about the case

The South Simcoe Police Service has laid additional charges in an ongoing investigation of sex offences in and around the area of Big Bay Point Road and 25 Side Road in the Town of Innisfil, and are seeking the public’s assistance to identify further possible victims or other evidence that might assist the investigators.

On Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021 at approximately 10 p.m., the South Simcoe Police Service responded to a report of a man committing an indecent act in public. This act was witnessed by a 14-year-old female victim and her mother out front of their residence.

As a result of the investigation, 26-year-old Benjamin Danby of Innisfil was arrested on Friday, Sept. 24, 2021 and charged with exposure to a person under 16 years of age and breach of probation. A search warrant was executed at his residence. The investigation continued.

On Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2021, the following additional charges were laid against Benjamin Danby:

· Possess child pornography
· Access child pornography
· Distribute child pornography
· Voyeurism
· Criminal harassment - two counts
· Failing to comply with a prohibition order - two counts

Danby remains in custody pending a bail hearing on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021.

He is described as a white male with brown hair, 175 cm, 63 kg, thin build, noticeable scar on his left thumb, tattoo of a bicycle (two circles connected by a line) on the inside of his right wrist, and a small mole at the left side of his face near his mouth.

The South Simcoe Police Service is releasing security camera images in our ongoing efforts to obtain additional information about the activities of this male over the past few months.
