Barrie police help with weapons raid at Bradford home

South Simcoe police say they recovered handgun, rifle and ammunition while executing search warrant Monday

Five people have been charged with firearms offences after police executed a search warrant at a Bradford residence on Monday.

South Simcoe police officers, along with the Barrie police emergency response unit, executed a warrant at a home in the area of Langford Boulevard and Holland Street West. 

Police arrested four adults and one youth and charged them with numerous firearms-related offences.

Charged are a 22-year-old from Brooklin, a 21-year-old from Newmarket, a 22-year-old from Bradford, a 35-year-old from Bradford, and a 14-year-old girl from Bradford who cannot be identified due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Police say they seized a Glock .40-calibre handgun with three overcapacity magazines and a Norinco M305 semi-automatic .308 rifle with an overcapacity magazine, as well as a quantity of ammunition.

Three of the accused were held for bail hearings.
