Fail To Appear BRADFORD - You can be late for some things, but you shouldn't be late for court. On Thursday, February 11, 2016, a man showed up at Bradford court at 1:00 p.m. Unfortunately, his appointment was for 10:00 a.m.

ORO-MEDONTE - The members of the Barrie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police are requesting the assistance of the public in solving this crime.

Sometime between Tuesday, February 10 and Wednesday, February 11, 2016, unknown person or persons attended a locked commercial compound located on School House Road in Oro-Medonte Township. A 2012 Kubota KX121-3ST mini excavator valued at $18,000 was taken.

Fail To Appear

BRADFORD - You can be late for some things, but you shouldn't be late for court. On Thursday, February 11, 2016, a man showed up at Bradford court at 1:00 p.m. Unfortunately, his appointment was for 10:00 a.m., and a Bench warrant had been issued for his arrest. The 26 year old Holland Landing man spent the night in jail, and will face a bail hearing this morning, with an added charge of Fail To Appear.

Impaired Driving

INNISFIL - A concerned citizen called South Simcoe Police on Thursday evening to report an impaired driver. On February 11, 2016, just after 10 p.m., the citizen became alarmed at the erratic driving of the car in front of him. When the suspect car stopped, the driver got out and the citizen was able to get his keys away from him. When officers arrived the driver was arrested and taken to the station for testing. A 40-year-old Barrie man has been charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Over 80 mgs. His licence has been suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded. He will appear in court later this month.

The South Simcoe Police salute the citizen for his actions, and ask that you call 9-1-1 immediately if you see an impaired driver. We can all work together to make our communities safer!

WARN Range Suspension

BRADFORD - On Thursday, February 11, 2016, just before midnight, a South Simcoe Police constable pulled into the lot of a local restaurant. A vehicle with loud music drew her attention when the car backed up and then re-entered its parking spot upon seeing police. The driver was questioned and later given a 3 day suspension for breath test results in the WARN range.

R.I.D.E. Evader Charged

BRADFORD - South Simcoe Police officers set up a R.I.D.E. program last night. Around 1:20 a.m., officers were on Dissette Street in Bradford, when a car approached. The vehicle stopped, made a u-turn and sped off. Officers immediately searched for the car, locating it on a nearby street. The 16-year-old driver, who was out in his parent's car without their knowledge or permission, was charged with numerous Highway Traffic Act offences including Novice Driver Unaccompanied.
