Essa man charged after stolen vehicle was found in Kirkland Lake

Police say the vehicle was stolen from southern Ontario and, with the aid of street crime unit from OPP, was found hundreds of kilometres away

On July 30, 2020, the Crime Unit from the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police with the assistance of the North East Region Community Street Crime Unit investigated an occurrence involving a stolen vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, police recovered a motor vehicle that had been stolen from southern Ontario.

Jacob Woollings, age 25, of Essa Township, Ontario, has been charged with the following:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 - contrary to section 355(a) of the Criminal Code (CC).

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake on Oct.15, 2020.
