ORILLIA - On Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017 the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a car fire at an Ontario Street business in the city of Orillia.

Approximately 3:30 a.m. on Dec. 16, 2017 the OPP were notified of a vehicle on fire at the Ontario Street Business. Officers arrived at the location and observed a vehicle on fire.

The Orillia Fire Department (OFD) was on scene to extinguish the fire. Central Region Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and Orillia OPP Crime Unit were called in to assist with the investigation.

Police are appealing to the public for witnesses. If anyone was a witness to this incident or has information that could be helpful in solving this crime they are encouraged to contact the Orillia OPP at 705-326-3536 or 1-888-310-1122 or crime stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
