Disturbance call leads to charges

On the 21st June 2017 at approximately 7:45 p.m., Midland Police Service responded to a disturbance call on the west side of Midland.

The investigation revealed the male suspect was hitting road signs and yelling at passing vehicles. Police located and observed the male to be (allegedly) intoxicated.

Further investigation revealed the male was bound by two probation orders with the conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, and not to consume alcohol outside of his residence.

Subsequently, the male was arrested and charged accordingly. The male was held for a Bail Hearing in the Barrie Court of Justice.

On June 26, 2017, members of the Midland Police Service attended a residence on the west side of town for the report of an assault. Upon arrival, the homeowner advised that he had been assaulted by a family member. Police located the suspect and she was arrested for assault.

The suspect was on probation from a previous criminal code charge. The suspect was charged with assault and failing to comply with probation was held for a bail hearing
