Couple used counterfeit money during shopping spree, police say

Barrie Police are looking to identify a male and female who used counterfeit bills to pay for their purchase at the Bayfield Street Winners location in April.

On the morning of Sunday, April 28, 2019, two suspects entered the store and selected multiple items from different departments. After spending quite a while in the store, the two proceeded to a cashier to checkout with their selections.

The male suspect paid for the dozens of items with several counterfeit bills, and they both left the store.

Unfortunately, store staff later realized that the bills used to pay for the purchase were counterfeit.

The suspects are described as:

Male suspect:

  • Male, white
  • Approximately 5’10” tall, and 170 lbs
  • 30-40 years old
  • Wearing blue and white Tommy Hilfiger jacket, black baseball cap, black sunglasses and black jeans

Female suspect:

  • Female, white, with blond hair
  • Approximately 5’9” tall, 170-180lbs
  • 30-40 years old
  • Wearing a black shirt, black tights, black boots, a long grey sweater and a patterned purse
