Cocaine, weapons seized during Wasaga drug bust (4 photos)

33-year-old woman and 17-year-old youth face numerous weapons, drug charges

WASAGA BEACH — On April 23, 2020, members of the Huronia West and Collingwood Community Street Crime Unit launched a drug trafficking investigation into a residence on Berkshire Avenue in Wasaga Beach after receiving several complainants and concerns from citizens in the area.

As a result of an extensive investigation, on May 5, 2020 members of the Huronia West and Collingwood OPP Community Street Crime Units, executed a search warrant at a residence on Berkshire Avenue in Wasaga Beach. 

During the execution of the warrant police seized the following items; cocaine, large sums of cash, money counter, scales, packaging materials, prohibited knife, prohibit firearm (handgun), a Non-Restricted firearm (.22 Caliber rifle) and various imitation firearms.

As a result, a 33-year-old female and a 17-year-old youth from Wasaga Beach have been charged with the following:

1) Unauthorized Possession of a prohibited firearm S. 91(1) CC 

2) Unauthorized Possession of a Non-Restricted Firearm S. 91(1) CC 

3) Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Firearm S.92(1) CC

4) Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Non-Restricted Firearm S.92(1) CC

5) Careless Storage of Firearm S. 86(1)

6) Careless Storage of Firearm S. 86(1)

7) Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon S. 91(1) CC

8) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000.00 S. 354(1)(a) CC

9) Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking S.5(2) CDSA

Both accused were released and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood at a future date.
