Two drivers involved in a collision were issued three-day licence suspensions after both tested positive for THC.

On Friday, Sept. 13 at 4:10 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a personal injury collision on St John's Road north of the 7th Line in Innisfil. Both vehicles were driven from the scene and parked in a private driveway prior to police arrival. One vehicle had minor damage.

Through investigation, police determined a northbound vehicle on St John's Road hit another vehicle that was stopped to turn left into a private driveway. Police detected signs of cannabis use and administered a roadside drug screening device test on both drivers. Both tested positive for THC.

As a result, an 18-year-old Innisfil man was issued a three-day licence suspension for novice driver - presence of a drug and charged with following too close.

A 21-year-old Etobicoke man also received a three-day licence suspension for novice driver - presence of a drug.  The driver and passenger of the second vehicle were transported to hospital with minor injuries.
