ATV driver sought after fleeing crash in Simcoe County Forest

The incident took place earlier this month; Newer model Polaris Razor likely has damage to front driver's side as a result of collision

TOWN OF NEW TECUMSETH, ADJALA-TOSORONTIO & ESSA TOWNSHIPS – The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fail-to-remain All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) collision that occurred on Saturday, May 16, 2020, at approximately 3 p.m. in the Simcoe County Forest located at the intersection of the 3rd Line 30th Sideroad, Tosorontio.  

A blue Polaris 570 ATV was reported travelling northbound on the main trail, running parallel to the 3rd Line, towards the 30th Sideroad. As the Polaris 570 ATV approached a trail running east and west, a Polaris Razor ATV approached at a high rate of speed from the east and the two collided within the intersection.  

After the collision, the driver of the Polaris Razor ATV continued westbound on the trail, failing to remain at the scene or provide assistance to the other driver. The Polaris 570 ATV driver remained on scene and contacted Nottawasaga OPP. No injuries were reported.  

The fail-to-remain Polaris Razor ATV is described as a newer model black Polaris Razor side-by-side. The driver was the sole occupant. The vehicle is expected to have front driver's side damage as a result of the collision.  

Body shops or repair facilities that have had inquiries into having an ATV repaired that matches the description of the suspect vehicle with similar damage are asked to contact police.
