Arrest made in vandalism of Wasaga Beach Pride crosswalk

Wasaga Beach man, 35, charged with mischief following Huronia West OPP investigation

WASAGA BEACH — Provincial police have made an arrest after the Pride crosswalk was damaged last month in Wasaga Beach. 

On July 20, 2021, Huronia West OPP began an investigation following vandalism to the crosswalk at Mosley and 39th streets.

With help from the public and the media, police have charged a 35-year-old Wasaga Beach man with mischief under $5,000.

The suspect's name was not released. 

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on Sept. 14, 2021.
