On Monday, March 19, 2018 a Bradford West Gwillimbury man went to the South Simcoe Police Service South Division to report he had been assaulted by his partner. The two men had been involved in a long-time relationship and lived together since 2016. The 47-year-old victim told police that an argument escalated to physical violence that left him with minor injuries.

Officers went to the couple's home and arrested a 45-year-old man for assault. He was taken to the South Division station and subsequently released on a promise to appear in court.

Officers will discuss safety planning with the victim. The South Simcoe Police Service treats all allegations of domestic violence very seriously and urges anyone who is a victim to come forward.
