29-year-old Barrie man faces theft under $200 charge

Barrie Police Service received many tips on the identity of the suspects involved in theft of produce from Zehrs. On Friday, Jan. 26, 2018 a 29-year-old Barrie man was charged with Theft Under $5000. The female was determined to be a youth and not involved.

Barrie Police Service is asking the public's assistance in identifying two suspects after they attended a local grocery store and filled up a cart with over $200 of produce and immediately left the store without paying.

On Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018 at 4:35 p.m. a male and female entered Zehrs Markets located at 11 Bryne Drive, in the City of Barrie. After filling the cart with produce the pair immediately made for the exit making no attempts to stop at the cash register.  A Loss Prevention Officer was able to catch up with the suspects outside the store however upon advising them they were under arrest of theft, the two jumped into a black SUV with Ontario plates and sped off.  The make, model and licence plate of the SUV is currently unknown at this time.

  • 6'0, 180 lbs, thin build
  • Light/Fair Complexion
  • Short hair, no facial hair
  • Neck tattoo
  • Wearing a black and blue ball cap, grey winter coat

Suspect #2

  • Female, white
  • 5'5, 110 lbs, thin build
  • Brown long, straight hair
  • Wearing a red winter coat
