Two of Canada's figure skating royalty will help christen the new twin-pad arena in Wasaga Beach with an upcoming show.
Elizabeth Manley and Elvis Stojko, both Olympic silver medallists in singles figure skating for Canada, are part of a grand opening show in February.
Manley is directing the show and Stojko, who trained at the Mariposa School of Skating in Barrie, is performing in the Valentine's Day-themed event, which also features the Wasaga Beach Skating Club.
The show, Love is in the Air, takes place on Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 each and available online here.
Stojko is a two-time Olympic medallist and three-time world champion. The Newmarket native has continued to perform since retiring from competition and recently toured with Stars on Ice for the holiday show.
Manley is also an Olympic and world medallist and three-time national champion. She lives in Collingwood and coaches at Collingwood Skating Club.
The ice show on Feb. 14 is part of a list of events celebrating the Town of Wasaga Beach's 50th anniversary, and the Breaking the Ice festival to celebrate the grand opening of the town's new twin-pad arena and library at 544 River Rd. W.
The Breaking the Ice Festival runs Feb. 10-19 and also includes an NHL alumni game and performances by Blue Rodeo and Burton Cummings.
