The third annual Battle of the Bears men’s rugby rivalry game between the Georgian Grizzlies and Sheridan Bruins will take place this Saturday night at 7 p.m. under the lights of J.C. Massie Field on the Georgian College Barrie campus.

The Brown Bear Trophy will be up for grabs once again on Saturday along with bragging rights between the two OCAA west division rivals. Through the first two years of the rivalry game each team has picked up a win with the Grizzlies winning the trophy in year one, while the Bruins picked up the win last year and enter as the reigning trophy holders.

So far the winner in both years of the rivalry game has been the home team, with traditional big crowds giving a boost to the home side.

The Grizzlies have gotten out to a great start this season. Georgian holds a perfect 3-0 record midway through the season and they lead the entire OCAA in points for (162) and against (15).

After a slow start to the season in which they dropped their first two games, the Bruins rebounded last week with an impressive 21-7 win over Humber in their home opener.

A big crowd is expected Saturday night to J.C. Massie Field and fans are encouraged to come out early to get a seat.

Tickets for the game will be available to the public at the doors for $5 or free to students when they present their Georgian College student card.

For those unable to attend, the game will be broadcast live at GeorgianGrizzlies.ca/WatchLive
