The Ontario Hockey League today announced the Week 1 edition of the weekly U16 AAA rankings for the 2024 OHL Cup Showcase Tournament presented by FPS Payment and hosted by the Greater Toronto Hockey League.
The 2024 OHL Cup will feature 20 teams consisting of talent eligible for the 2024 OHL Priority Selection. Starting with three wild-card play-in match-ups on Monday, March 25, all games will be played at the Scotiabank Pond in Toronto until the championship final moves to the Mattamy Athletic Centre on Saturday, March 30.
The weekly rankings are determined by a panel of OHL Central Scouting staff and represent the top teams that are competing to play in the annual year-end championship tournament.

History:
The Toronto Jr. Canadiens reigned supreme in the 2023 OHL Cup, blanking the Vaughan Kings 3-0 in the Championship Final to wrap-up a perfect 7-0 tournament while surrendering a record-low three goals against. Jr. Canadiens forward Jake O'Brien (Brantford Bulldogs) led the showcase in scoring with 17 points (7-10--17), claiming tournament MVP honours.
The 2023 OHL Priority Selection featured 16 players who competed for the OHL Cup including Matthew Schaefer (Halton Hurricanes - 1st overall Erie Otters), Ryan Roobroeck (London Jr. Knights - 2nd overall Niagara IceDogs), Brady Martin (Waterloo Wolves - 3rd overall Soo Greyhounds), Tyler Hopkins (Halton Hurricanes - 4th overall Kingston Frontenacs), Ethan Czata (Mississauga Rebels - 5th overall Niagara IceDogs), Owen Griffin (York-Simcoe Express - 6th overall Oshawa Generals), Jack Ivankovic (Mississauga Senators - 7th overall Mississauga Steelheads), Jake O'Brien (Toronto Jr. Canadiens - 8th overall Brantford Bulldogs), Caden Taylor (Mississauga Senators - 9th overall Sudbury Wolves), Luca Romano (Toronto Jr. Canadiens - 11th overall Kitchener Rangers), Nico Addy (Toronto Jr. Canadiens - 12th overall Owen Sound Attack), Jeremy Martin (Toronto Marlboros - 15th overall Flint Firebirds), Aiden Young (London Jr. Knights - 16th overall Saginaw Spirit), Ryan Brown (York-Simcoe Express - 17th overall Sarnia Sting), Shamar Moses (Don Mills Flyers - 19th overall Barrie Colts) and Carter Kostuch (Vaughan Kings - 21st overall North Bay Battalion).
