For the second year in a row, the city has brought together a panel of experts on being your own boss

Are you ready to take the plunge and be your own boss? Before you do, it’s best to hear stories and lessons from entrepreneurs who have been successful.

On January 26, from 4:30 to 7 p.m., the City is hosting the second raizit event at Flying Monkeys Brewery (107 Dunlop Street East).

This panel event will be moderated by Marc Castel, CEO of Maintenance Assist, and mentor at the Henry Bernick Entrepreneurship Centre.

The panel will feature the following entrepreneurs:

  • Ben Zlotnick, founder of Incubes, one of Canada’s leading Accelerators
  • Shelby Taylor, founder of Earth to Kids
  • Duane Homick, founder of GymNext
  • Chris Adams, co-founder and CTO of gShift

The raizit event is organized by Invest Barrie, and was first held on November 10, 2015.

The event was attended by more than 60 existing entrepreneurs and people interested in pursuing a start-up business.

One of the goals of Invest Barrie is to create and support a city-wide culture that promotes, celebrates and sparks the interest of entrepreneurship to encourage and promote the creation of new Barrie-based enterprises, including start-ups and small businesses.

Events like raizit enable the interaction of community members and create networking opportunities that can support and inspire entrepreneurs.
