Three new COVID-19 cases at schools in Simcoe County today

New cases are being reported today at St. John Paul II and St. Bernadette in Barrie, and St. Marie of the Incarnation in Bradford

There are three new COVID-19 cases being reported in schools across Simcoe County today.

There are 54 total active COVID-19 cases being reported by local school boards at Simcoe County schools as of 4 p.m. on Nov. 12.

St. John Paul II Catholic School in Barrie is reporting one new case, and one affected classroom today.

St. Marie of the Incarnation Catholic School in Bradford has one new case, and one new affected classroom. This adds to one case and one affected classroom previously reported at the school.

There is a new case being reported today at St. Bernadette Catholic School in Barrie. This adds to two cases and two affected classrooms previously reported at the school.

The Simcoe County District School Board has 13 confirmed active cases at five schools listed. They are:

  • Huronia Centennial Elementary School in Elmvale, two cases and two classrooms affected.
  • Terry Fox Elementary School, four cases, with three classrooms affected. Outbreak declared Nov. 10
  • W.C. Little Elementary School, two cases, and two affected classrooms
  • Eastview Secondary School in Barrie, four cases
  • Innisdale Secondary School, one case

Assikinack Public School in Barrie, is still in active outbreak according to the health unit. The school board is reporting all active cases at the school is now resolved.

According to the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, there are currently 32 active cases spread across 11 schools:

  • Holy Cross Catholic School, Innisfil, five cases, two affected classrooms. This school has been in outbreak since Oct. 15.
  • Sister Catherine Donnelly Catholic School in Barrie is reporting one case and one classroom affected
  • St. Angela Merici Catholic School, Bradford, two cases, two classrooms affected
  • St. Bernadette Catholic School, Barrie, three cases, two classrooms affected. Outbreak declared on Nov. 9
  • St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School in Barrie, seven cases and two classroom affected. This school has been in outbreak since Nov. 1.
  • St. John Paul II Catholic School in Barrie is reporting one case, and one affected classroom
  • St. Marie of the Incarnation Catholic School in Bradford has two cases, and two classrooms affected
  • St. Mary's Catholic School, Collingwood, one case, one classroom affected
  • St. Monica's Catholic School in Barrie, one case and one classroom affected
  • St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School in Barrie has four cases, with nine classrooms affected
  • St. Peter's Catholic Secondary School, Barrie, six cases, 12 classrooms affected. Outbreak declared on Nov. 8

The MonAvenir Catholic School Board has reported five students and one staff member who attend ÉÉC Samuel-de-Champlain in Orillia have tested positive for COVID-19 between Nov. 2 and 10. Two classrooms have been affected, and the health unit has declared an active outbreak at the school.

La Source Elementary School in Barrie, which is part of the Conseil scolaire Viamonde board reported one active case on Oct. 29.

A private school in Simcoe County, which has not been identified by the health unit, is also reporting an outbreak as of Nov. 8. There are two cases associated with that outbreak.
