The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) says Springwater Township resident Virginia Jones is one step closer to claiming her $100,000 lottery prize from the Jan. 10 Lotto Max draw with Encore.

Because her husband works for an OLG lottery supplier, the OLG says this claim falls within the Crown agency's definition of an 'insider win'.

"Claims of $10,000 or more made by insiders require enhanced review and validation as well as a 30-day publication period prior to payment to ensure there are no additional claims on the winning ticket," the OLG says in a news release.

The agency says the prize will be paid to the claimant on March 9 pending no additional claims prior to that date.

The ticket was purchased at Circle K on Bayfield Street in Barrie.
